SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – Eversource is reporting a natural gas outage in the town of South Hadley on Monday.

South Hadley Police released a statement from Eversource that said some residents are affected by the outage and gas will temporarily be shut off while technicians work to repair services. In addition, some crews may need to enter homes to turn off gas meters.

Below is the full statement from Eversource:

“Hello, this is an important message from Eversource. We are currently experiencing a natural gas outage in your area and your service will be temporarily interrupted. Please be assured that the area is safe and Eversource crews are on site. Eversource technicians may need to enter your property to turn off your gas meter. We will provide you with a restoration update as soon as possible. Please remember that if you smell gas, leave the area immediately and dial 911 or call us at EGMA: 800-525-8222. Thank you and please stay safe. Goodbye.”
