Cameroon stop Nigeria

Nigeria on Sunday   failed to qualify for the Uruguay 2018  FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup following their  1-1 away draw in the second-leg play-off round of the African qualifiers against Cameroon in Yaounde.

The Flamingos  fumbled to a  2-2 draw against the Central Africans  in the first leg in Benin. But Sunday’s  result helped  Cameroon book  their ticket to Uruguay 2018  3-3 on away goals on aggregate.

Alice Kameni shot the hosts into the lead in the  16th minute before Precious Vincent drew Flamingos level after  82 minutes.

The Flamingos, who have appeared in every edition of the tournament since its inception in New Zealand in 2008, went in search of the winning goal but Cameroonians held on to bag the  ticket.
