From Trussville Tribune staff reports
After a contractor hit a gas line today, Oxmoor Valley Elementary School was evacuated and students were dismissed for the day.
The school was evacuated as a safety precaution until the gas leak can be repaired by Alagasco. The gas leak was first reported at the school shortly after 11 a.m. today.
Crews have located the leak and are working to stop the flow of natural gas.
Oxmoor Valley Elementary School is located at 3600 Sydney Drive.

Can you revised the headline to include “…Trussville City Schools were not affected.” Had a mini panic attack for a second. Geesh.

I thought the same thing!! Coming from trussville tribune I was thinking it was a trussville elementary school! Not the best headline of an article for a local media source.

I came to see everybody saying how stupid the workers are.Let me tell you, its hard to see a gas main thats 3 feet underground unmarked and more often now made of plastic. Why dont you give it a shot and see how you do with it before you call workers out
