South Dakota employers competing for workers as back orders mount up

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Businesses across the state are competing for workers as back orders mount up.

Yankton Area Progressive Growth C.E.O. Nancy Wenande says the impending federal infrastructure bill could also have a big impact.

Wenande says despite the tight labor market, she has been working with potential new businesses.

Wenande says another challenge to business expansion is a very tight natural gas supply.

The South Dakota Department of Labor reported an unemployment rate of 2.9% in March, the lowest in the country.
