(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 8 (Petra)-- Minister of Petroleum and Energy in Senegal Mouhamadou Makhtar Cisse accompanied by a delegation, is visiting the Kingdom to take a first-hand look at the Jordanian experiment in using the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industry and the importance of this material in electricity production.
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zawati met the Senegalese minister and talked about the Jordanian experience in using the LNG and its economic importance.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to benefit from the two countries' expertise in renewable energy in addition to oil and gas exploration areas, mainly in light of the new discoveries in Senegal and the Jordanian experiment in importing LNG.
Zawati stressed Jordan's readiness to provide its expertise to Senegal in energy domain, especially in the use of LNG technology.
The delegation also met with the Ministry's secretary general Amani Al Azzam and director of the Natural Gas Directorate Hassan Al Hayari, where they listened to briefs about the natural gas sector and projects in the Kingdom.
The delegation will also visit the National Electric Power Company, Samra Electric Power Company , the Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Terminal in Aqaba, 330km south of Amman, which is used to pump LNG to electricity-generating stations.
