Cincinnati -- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today issued a Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought for its Separations Process Research Unit (SPRU) F-Yard Cleanup Services project under RFI No. 89303318NEM000006.

The Office of Environmental Management (EM) is currently planning for a potential upcoming procurement to perform environmental remediation, waste treatment/waste disposal, soil remediation, and developing a variance petition at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) located in Niskayuna, near Schenectady, NY.

DOE is seeking feedback from contractors and other interested parties regarding options for innovative approaches for the performance of the major elements of scope as well as insight into potential contracting alternatives. This market research will assist DOE with identifying interested and SBA 8(a) capable sources and developing its acquisition strategy. Key market research goals include evaluating SBA 8(a) small business capabilities, identifying risks, estimating price, evaluating specific methods for performance, and identifying appropriate RFP/contract terms and conditions

This RFI is for market research purposes only and no proposals are being sought. The announcement is posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website at: https://www.FBO.gov/ and on FedConnect at https://www.fedconnect.net.

Additional information will be released as the acquisition planning process continues.
